Routine Dental
Health Examinations

  • Details

Regular dental health examinations, or Check Up’s are a must and form the basis of our preventative dental care plan. Even with the perfect oral hygiene care you can still develop dental problems that you may not be able to spot by yourself in your own bathroom mirror.

We will give you a thorough oral examination, with oral cancer screening as standard. Preventing gum disease, tooth decay and helping you maintain a clean and healthy mouth. We strongly believe that prevention is better than cure and recommend a Dental health examination at least every 6 months to ensure problems are caught early on and treated when they are minimal, instead of waiting until it hurts and a more drastic and costly solution is required.

Fissure Treatments

  • Pits and fissures in the teeth are not only a gateway to decay but can be an irritating place for tiny chunks of food to get stuck. These fissures can be covered with a special sealant to prevent further decay. The sealant is a painless and harmless way to protect your back teeth. Your dentist will recommend fissure treatment to you if you would benefit from an application. They can be especially important to protect children’s adult teeth if they have had decay in their baby teeth.

What to expect during the treatment?

The process is quick and straightforward, taking only a few minutes for each tooth. The tooth is thoroughly cleaned, prepared with a special solution, and dried. The liquid sealant is then applied and allowed to set hard, sealing any fissures and pits so that they do not develop into cavities.

Myobraces

  • A new, innovative and non-surgical treatment to help straighten teeth and improve jaw development, particularly for young patients ages 5-15 and prevent the need for braces.

The Myobrace® System is preventive pre-orthodontic treatment that focuses on addressing the underlying causes of crooked teeth, often without the need for braces or extraction of teeth, unlocking natural growth and development. Treatment is best suited to children aged 3 to 15 and involves using a series of removable intra-oral appliances that are worn for 1-2 hours each day plus overnight while sleeping.

A Myobrace treatment is easily removed and maintained, and when working alongside a professional dentist ensures that any potential oral development issues are prevented, rather than trying to fix them in the future.

The goal of the Myobrace is to help your child:

    • Breathe through their nose

    • Rest their tongue in the correct position

    • Swallow correctly

    • Keep their lips together passively

Implementing these good habits at an early age has a dramatic impact on the development of child’s face, jaw muscles and teeth. In turn, this can have a positive impact on a child’s overall development.

    Some of the results include:

    • Correction of poor oral habits

    • Correct development and alignment of both lower and upper jaw

    • Straightening of teeth

    • Correct facial development

    • Overall health and breathing improvement
